Radio Lollipop provides care, comfort, play and entertainment for children in hospital. Over the last 45 years it has helped more than 10.5 million children, giving them a voice and choice at a very difficult time in their young lives.
We now provide a volunteer run service in 37 hospitals across 5 countries and that means we are helping bring happiness and respite to over 500,000 children every year.

As a Volunteer Organisation, Radio Lollipop is 100% staffed by people who want to make a difference to the lives of children in hospital. It is rewarding and fulfilling, but not without its challenges. Play
Play is considered vital to healthy growth and development, supporting social, physical, imaginative, creative, cognitive and emotional development.
Put more simply, Play enables children to explore and make sense of the world around them. Something that while they are in hospital is more vital than ever. Through play, children create other worlds where they can test out reality, discover who they are, and even forget where they are for a short while.
The Power of Radio
Radio enables us to reach children at the bedside. Broadcasting live from studios within each of the hospitals we can directly engage children in entertainment, that stimulates their imagination. We bring children, and their voices directly into our live shows. This is radio for them, with them, and very often by them as well. If you've ever been moved by a piece music, to dance, sing or just feel a certain way, then you will know how important radio can be. Especially in the clinical space of a hospital. Radio is only limited by the imagination, and when combined with creative play, you have a real and tangible force for good.
